Groups A and B for 2027

The 14 teams are split into the two groups below. Ten sides were already qualified when the draw was published: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The remaining four places were still open, which is why two lines read Qualifier A and Qualifier B.

One of those places is settled in Namibia before the main event starts. The Super Series at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek runs on 2, 4 and 6 October 2027 as a single round robin, and the team that tops it takes the last group stage spot.

From the group table to the Super 7

Finishing third is enough in 2027. The top three in each group go through, and the better of the two fourth-placed sides joins them, which makes seven teams for the next phase. That last slot is the one worth watching on net run rate, because it is decided across groups rather than inside one of them.

The part that surprises people: the Super 7 table starts empty.

1. 2, 4 and 6 October 2027: Super Series in Windhoek, single round robin, winner takes the final group place.
2. 7 to 24 October 2027: group stage across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
3. Top three of each group qualify, plus the better fourth-place finisher.
4. 25 October to 14 November 2027: Super 7, six matches per team, no points carried over from the groups.
5. Top four of the Super 7 reach the semi-finals, played on 17 November in Cape Town and 18 November in Tshwane.
6. 21 November 2027: final at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, with 22 November kept as a reserve day.

India went through the 2026 group phase in India and Sri Lanka without dropping a match, including the 61-run win over Pakistan in Colombo on 15 February. Bangladesh have no row here. They withdrew before the tournament after refusing to play in India and were replaced by Scotland.

Where India and Bangladesh finished in the women's tables

The 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup is the best argument against reading a league table as a verdict. India scraped into the knockouts fourth, with three wins, three defeats and a washout from seven matches, then beat Australia by 5 wickets in the semi-final and South Africa by 52 runs in the final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on 2 November. Shafali Verma took the award in the final, Deepti Sharma was player of the tournament with 22 wickets, and Laura Wolvaardt still finished as the leading run scorer on 571.

Bangladesh were seventh in that table and went out after the loss to Sri Lanka. At the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup in England, both sides were knocked out in Group A, India third on six points and Bangladesh fourth on four, with Bangladesh beating Pakistan by 23 runs and losing to South Africa by 4 wickets. When does the points table start filling up?

The Super Series in Windhoek gets going on 2 October 2027, and the main group stage starts on 7 October with Australia against India at Newlands in Cape Town. The last group game is Zimbabwe v India at the Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls on 24 October.

Do teams carry their group points into the Super 7?

No. The Super 7 is a fresh single round robin from 25 October to 14 November, six matches per team, and the top four from that table go to the semi-finals.

Which teams does India have to get past in the group?

The final is scheduled for 21 November 2027 in Johannesburg, with 22 November held as a reserve day. Ticket prices were announced in a band from USD $9.62 to USD $31.31, and those move, so check the price at the point of sale rather than trusting an old figure.
