This page holds the groups, the fixtures that matter to readers in India and Bangladesh, the grounds with their capacities, and the format, because a fourth place finish in the group is worth something this time and a lot of people will get that wrong.
Where fans in India and Bangladesh bet on the matches
Below are the operators we link to for readers in India and Bangladesh. Each card carries that operator's own details and its link, so read them side by side rather than taking the first one.
The order is fixed by the site and is not a ranking: nothing here says one operator is better than the next. Our general notes on betting through the tournament are on the betting page.

How 14 teams become a Super 7
The structure is not the 2023 single league and it is not the old quarter-final bracket either. Twelve teams are split into two groups of six, and the thirteenth and fourteenth places come out of a three-match Super Series played in Namibia before the group stage starts.
Group A is India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A. Group B is New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Qualifier B.
The line to remember is in the Super 7 stage: no points are carried over from the group. A side can win five out of five in October and still start the second stage level with a team that scraped through fourth.
- Super Series, 2, 4 and 6 October at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek: a single round robin, and the team that finishes top takes the last group stage place.
- Group stage, 7 to 24 October: two groups of six, opening with Australia against India in Cape Town and closing with Zimbabwe against India at Victoria Falls.
- Super 7, 25 October to 14 November: the top three from each group plus the better of the two fourth-placed sides, six matches per team, points reset to zero. The stage opens at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on 25 October.
- Semi-finals, 17 November in Cape Town and 18 November in Tshwane, for the top four of the Super 7.
- Final, 21 November at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, with 22 November kept as a reserve day.
India and Bangladesh match days in October
Both sides play five group matches. Start times across the tournament are 10:00 or 12:30 local time, which is UTC+2 in all three host countries, so the late start is the one that runs into the evening for viewers at home.
India finish their group against Zimbabwe at the Mosi-oa-Tunya ground in Victoria Falls on 24 October, the last match of the whole group stage. The full list for every team sits on the schedule page, and the group standings are tracked on the points table.

The twelve grounds and how many they hold
The Wanderers is the biggest room in the tournament at 34,000 and it gets India against Pakistan, the Super 7 opener and the final. The smallest is the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek at 7,000, which still hosts the Super Series and four group matches including England against Sri Lanka on 13 October.
Three Zimbabwean grounds are in use. Victoria Falls is the one most travelling fans will build a trip around, and it holds 10,000.

Every final before the World Cup 2027
Australia have six titles (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2023). India have two, in 1983 and 2011, and so do West Indies, from the first two editions. England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have one each, and New Zealand have none from two final defeats.
The 2003 final was played at the Wanderers, the same ground that stages the 2027 final, and India lost it by 125 runs. The full winners list, with the losing semi-finalists, is on the winners page.
| Year | Winner | Runner-up | Margin and venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1975 | West Indies | Australia | 17 runs, Lord's, London |
| 1979 | West Indies | England | 92 runs, Lord's |
| 1983 | India | West Indies | 43 runs, Lord's |
| 1987 | Australia | England | 7 runs, Eden Gardens, Kolkata |

The champions arriving from 2026 and 2025
India go into this cycle holding two world titles. The men won the T20 World Cup on 8 March 2026, beating New Zealand by 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad after making 255/5. Jasprit Bumrah took the award in the final, Sanju Samson was player of the tournament, and Bumrah shared the wicket-taking lead with Varun Chakravarthy on 14 each. That was India's third T20 title after 2007 and 2024. Bangladesh were not part of it: they withdrew before the tournament and Scotland took their place. The 20-team event ran from 7 February to 8 March 2026 across India and Sri Lanka, 55 matches in all, and India's group win over Pakistan in Colombo on 15 February came by 61 runs. More on that edition is on the T20 World Cup page.
Four months before it, on 2 November 2025, the India women won their first World Cup at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, 298/7 against South Africa's 246. Shafali Verma won the final, Deepti Sharma was player of the tournament with 22 wickets, and Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa made the most runs in the competition with 571. India had come fourth in the league stage with seven points from seven games before knocking Australia out by five wickets in the semi-final, which is the sort of run that makes a reset-the-points format like 2027's worth watching closely. Bangladesh finished seventh with one win.
The 2026 Women's T20 World Cup in England went the other way for both countries. Australia took a seventh title at Lord's, chasing England's 150/4 inside 17.1 overs. India were third in Group A and Bangladesh fourth, both out before the knockouts, though Shree Charani ended as the leading wicket-taker with 14. The women's World Cup page carries those results in full.
