India vs New Zealand, every match of the 2026-27 tour
India vs New Zealand runs from 22 October to 1 December 2026, and it is a long one: five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests across New Zealand. India already lead the T20I leg 2-0 after two chases at Hagley Oval, both won with a ball or two to spare.
All figures here were confirmed against the operator's published pages on 24 October 2026.
Below you get every date, every ground and every result as they stand, the captains for each format, the last World Cup meeting between these two, and the fixture at the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia where they could run into each other again.
All five T20Is, with the two India have already won
The opener on 22 October 2026 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch was a straight shootout. Glenn Phillips made 82 not out from 40 balls and New Zealand finished on 225/4. India answered with 230/6 in 19.4 overs, Sanju Samson hitting 67 from 33 to take the player of the match award. Michael Bracewell took 2/37 from his four overs, Mayank Yadav went for 40 and took one.
Two nights later, same ground, same margin. New Zealand were pegged back to 180/5, Phillips again top scoring with 70 from 43, and Arshdeep Singh finished with 2/33. India stumbled towards it rather than cruised: Mitchell Santner's 4/21 kept the chase alive until Tilak Varma's 51 not out from 26 balls settled it at 181/6 in 19.5 overs.
So India go to Wellington 2-0 up with three matches left. All three remaining T20Is start at 20:00 under lights, and you can follow them on the live score page.

Five ODIs follow the T20Is, each a day-night game starting at 15:00. The schedule moves north to south and then settles in Tauranga, where the last two are played at the same ground inside three days.
This is the format that matters most for what comes in 2027, and both captains will treat the middle-order slots accordingly.

Two Tests with World Test Championship points on them
The red-ball part of the tour is short and heavy. The first Test is at the Basin Reserve in Wellington from 19 to 23 November 2026. The second runs from 27 November to 1 December 2026 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, the same ground where the T20I series opened five weeks earlier.
Both Tests count towards the 2025-2027 World Test Championship cycle, so a drawn series is not a neutral result for either side.

The 2026 T20 World Cup final between these two
The last time India and New Zealand met with a trophy on the table was 8 March 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India posted 255/5 and bowled New Zealand out for 159 in 19 overs, a 96-run win and India's third Men's T20 World Cup title after 2007 and 2024. Jasprit Bumrah took the player of the final award; Sanju Samson was player of the tournament.
New Zealand had reached that final in style, beating South Africa by nine wickets at Eden Gardens on 4 March 2026. India got there the harder way, by seven runs against England at the Wankhede on 5 March 2026. More on that campaign sits on the T20 World Cup page.
That history is part of why this tour reads the way it does. New Zealand are hosting the side that beat them in a final, with the same captain in white-ball cricket, and the first two T20Is were decided inside the last over.
